Subject - Welcomb Street

ReplyPosted : (Thursday 17th August 2006 ) By - Michael White (Unregistered User) Could anyone please tell me whether Welcomb Street, Hulme, is still in existence? My father was born at 116 Welcomb Street in November 1913 and I am trying to find out whether there are any photographs of the address or the street at that time are in existence. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Welcomb Street

this is a picture of Welcomb Street in Hulme from the 1930s - I don't think there are any houses like this left in Hulme! This came from the city library so they may be able to help you.

Welcomb Street

You could try looking at the Manchester Local Image Collection of Manchester Libraries.

I did a search for Welcomb Street and four images came up.

Welcomb Street

Hi there. I lived at 95 Welcomb Street, Hulme from 1949 to 1965 (approx). It was bulldozed in 1965, when my family and I were rehoused in Whitefield, near Bury.
